Advocates joined the Women for Refugee Women roundtable discussion in London, organised in Partnership with NACCOM today to tackle destitution issues. The meeting aimed to
Gather information about what capacity organisations have to work together on policy work around ending destitution and look at existing work in this area
Look at the strengths, weaknesses, challenges and opportunities in working to end destitution
Look briefly at previous campaigns/policy work that have gone on before, and what has worked/not worked
Agree next steps
It was a packed day, lots of reps from 35 places talking. We are looking forward to action that addresses issues that have been raised over and over and over, we must end poverty so extreme it threatens life.
